All submissions to Louisiana Literature should be double-spaced (except for poetry). Use margins of at least one inch, and be sure to put your name on each page of the manuscript.

Please wait for a response before submitting another manuscript. Also, we ask that you submit work in only one category at a time. Multiple or concurrent submissions will be returned unread.

Louisiana Literature is happy to read simultaneous submissions (please inform us as soon as possible if work is accepted elsewhere), but we will not consider work that has been published before, including personal blog publications. We endeavor to respond to all submissions within 30 days.

Please submit 3-5 poems as a single digital file (formatted as .doc, .docx, or .rtf).
Please submit fiction double-spaced in a digital file (formatted as .doc, .docx, or .rtf).
Please submit creative non-fiction double-spaced in a single digital file (formatted as .doc, .docx, or .rtf).

Submit an original, unpublished chapbook-length poetry manuscript of 18-25 pages. Please include table of contents and bio in the manuscript.

Individual poems in the manuscript may be previously published in journals or anthologies, but the work as a whole must be unpublished. If applicable, please include an acknowledgments page listing previous publications.

Simultaneous submissions are welcomed as long as we are notified immediately if work is accepted for publication elsewhere.

Louisiana Literature Press will announce all decisions by October 15, 2021.

A subscription to Louisiana Literature includes two issues starting with our current issue unless otherwise specified.
